The Washington University Vascular Surgery Residency Program participates in the NRMP match program and uses ERAS® (Electronic Residency Application Service https://www.aamc.org/students/medstudents/eras/) for our application process. Paper applications will not be accepted.
Applications should consist of all ERAS® materials and the following documents:
- Three letters of recommendation from American Board of Surgery certified surgeons who are familiar with your work
- USMLE Step I scores (Step II required before residency program starts)
- Personal statement
An initial review of every applicant will be made upon receipt of a complete application. Qualified candidates will receive an invitation to participate in one of our interview days.
Residency timeline for 2015-2016 PGY1 year:
- Application deadline: November 1, 2014
- Applicant interviews: December 20, 2014 and January 17, 2015.
There is an informal dinner event on Friday evening. Formal interviews are held on Saturdays and begin with an overview of the training program. This is followed by interviews of the applicants by faculty members for the remainder of the morning. At the conclusion of the interviews, applicants are given a tour of the facilities and an informal lunch with the current trainees ending the day near 1:00 p.m.
